Hi Glove and LS:

Bo and Diana have come up with the best explanation of the DQ/SQ split
yet

Their proposal reads:

The DQ/SQ split is CHANGE FOR THE BETTER versus PERMANENCE.

Glove's objection to the universe striving to become better is
ultimately self-contradictory because he asserts that his intellectual
pattern of "rippling evolution" is better than the Pirsigian and
Darwinian intellectual patterns. Surely intellectual patterns are to be
included as part of the universe. No matter how hard the intellect tries
to be "objective," there's no escape from morality.

An area still to be discussed is whether or not DQ and SQ encompass some
sort of psychic force that originated with the Big Bang along with the
physical forces of gravity, electromagnetism and the strong/weak atomic.

But, that's for another day.

Platt
