I am new to the group and sometimes feel a little out of my depth. Physics is well
outside the realm of my experience. I came to the squad for more practical
applications of the MoQ than I have seen so far. I was a psych student when I came to
Pirsig.
It is a mistake, I think to discuss minutiae endlessly. If, as Pirsig believes, the
Western world is drifting back to the Victorian static latch, then a concerted effort
to disseminate practical applications of the MoQ is critical.
Some of the questions that I hope to have answered:
1. In several of passages in ZMM and Lila, Pirsig has implied that Quality is aware
and has purpose. Indeed, in some of the discussions I have followed so far I get the
impression that some of the membership believes the same. Is "Q" self aware?
2. How is it possible to raise one's children to live Quality? Some tips would be
helpful to me also.
3. Pirsig has observed that movements imposed from the top down inevitably fail. How
can we present Q in a way that the masses can accept?
4. Is the MoQ to finally become religion?
Pirsig has identified DQ as the prime mover and SQ as the organizing principal. Is Q
then a deity? If so are we now defining the dogma for the new religion? Who is to be
the Paul to Pirsig?
I have been digesting Quality for 20-some years now. Until I found this group I had
noone to whom I could direct these questions.
If I am out of line, I'll shut up and go back to lurking for a while longer ;-).
