Howdy again,
I picked up this interesting bit on moq.org. I wish to translate it.
Interview /w Pirsig:
Q: You write of a "divorce" between art and technology. Have we moved toward
healing this breach in the last quarter century? Have computers made us more
comfortable with technology?
A: No, computers are just more technology. The divorce has to be healed at a
much higher level than that. At this point the narrator is laying ground for
the discussion of quality that comes later. Quality is the common ground of
art and technology.
Translation:
Q: You write of a division between NF and NT. Have we fixed it? Have
computers (T machines) made us more F with NT?
A: No, T is just more T. It has to be fixed at the roots of T (assumptions).
The narrator is T-ing because he's throwing out premises and ideas (N). Q is
the common ground of NF and NT.
I like this a lot:
Q is the common ground of NF and NT.
Sincerely,
MJC
P.S.
To say: feelings are irrelevant,
is to say: logic is irrelevant.
Since logic is relevant,
Then feelings must be relevant.
Yay...
Let the mending begin.
