Re: MD The Definition of "Insanity"

Again - I am not saying that the "behavior" doesn't exist. There are
people who see things I don't. There are people who hear voices that
no one else does. I DO NO DISPUTE THESE THINGS. What I am trying to
get across is that WE (humankind) have arbitrarily decided what
"differences" are acceptable and which are not. Christ would be
deemed insane if he showed up today (i'm sure that he was considered
crazy by some of his contemporaries as well).

All I'm saying is that once we start labelling, we box up (limit)
others. If someone hears voices and these voices are causing them
distress or causing the person to injure others - get them help. But
to label them as insane (or whatever term you decide to label them
with) just seperates them from those we have decided are sane.

When is a person deemed "sane"? When is a person deemed "insane"?
In the moment? By their action? Once insane/always insane? What
useful purpose is there in labelling someone sane or insane?

Shalom
