Hellooooo!
Pirsig does indeed use terms such as mind and substance but with proviso?
Mind becomes a jungle of static patterning and substance becomes Inorganic
patterning.
Pirsig's use of the term mind agrees with those who have been arguing that it
is culturally derived.

The central problem is that substance metaphysics after Descartes is a two
tier metaphysics. Now we have a four tier metaphysics and mind is a more
subtle proposition in the MOQ.

Squonk.
