Wilco?

I like their stuff and they worked with Billy Bragg too.

Yea, those guys are among the pioneers. I liked the Woody Guthrie stuff
quite a bit (THE MERMAID ALBUMS). Their most recent album is very
interestig, but leaves the whole alt country thing behind. Mostly, they're a
little too mainstream for my tastes. I saw Jay Bennett, one of the former
members, at my favorite little dive a few weeks back. Its an imtimate place
that only seats a few dozen people. It was really great. He actually prayed
during the show and didn't mind using profanity even while he was sincerely
thanking God for all his good fortune. Also the power went out just as he
was about to begin and so he turned it into a question and answer period. A
heckler's dream. He and I had an exchange that had the whole place laughing.

But more importantly, what do you make of my unconventional "religion"? I
wonder what MOQers think of art as a substitute for church?
