Hi Lilacs,
It's a pity that the fragrance today smells like the fragrance of
"air freshener". I could use a breath of REAL fresh air.

Diana's "Zombie" articles were interesting and revealing, but lacked
something I greatly value i.e. simplicity.
The "free won't" mentioned in one of the articles is about rejecting
possibilities that already arose unconsciously.

Way back in June, I wrote:-
>DQ is about putting the possibilities on the agenda.
>SQ is about evaluating the possibilities that have arisen.

I don't want to get bogged down in discussing the workings of DQ in the
Zombie, but I do have some comments on the workings of logic. Logic is
about comparing and testing patterns for consistency. When inconsistency
is found, a pattern can be declared false and rejected. But logic
doesn't invent the patterns it tests and we don't really understand how
the ideas first arise. New Scientist suddenly presents this as a
remarkable new finding, but Platt and Mary already saw through it ...

MARY:
>You know there's a lot of truth to the old saying
>that there's "nothing new under the sun".

PLATT:
>The "zombie within" sounds a lot like good old "automatism" ...

I agree with them both.
