JONATHAN - PLEASE DON'T SPLIT THE DISCUSSION.
SUGGESTION FOR "ON-TOPIC" DIGESTS INSTEAD OF MODERATION.
Hi Horse, Committee and other LilaQs,
Firstly, as far as I am concerned this still *is* the Lila Squad and
the move to the new server was technical rather than substantive.
"Moq_discuss" to me is just part of an email address.

Horse, you sound like a Cable TV salesman. Nothing taken away? I
strongly disagree. What you are taking away is unity and integrity. It's
all very well for a clique to go off for a private discussion, but to
*publicly* leave and set up a separate group is highly divisive. It's
sad that this is what things have come to. I have made some specific
suggestions to stop this happening, and have some additional ones.

I'd like to see this implemented immediately for a trial period.

I understand that this would need some work to set up.

Let me plead for some NETIQUETTE in line with Bodvar's original post on
this topic:-
<<<...don't reproduce the whole "original message", only the portions
you want to respond to.>>>
... and moderation don't post every time an idea enters your head ...
Maybe that's the most important thing if we are to keep our act
together!

If a member of Lila Squad wants to focus on one particular aspect of
the MoQ then that aspect is proposed others agree and we talk about it
without having to spend time filtering out unwanted noise = Increased
choice.>>>
I understand the practical problems some LilaQs face. What they need is
for a volunteer to go through the posts and compile a digest of
"on-topic" material. We could then have a subscription option of "digest
only". Wouldn't this be better than censorship?
4. Suppose instead of a moderator, we have monthly volunteers who
compile "on-topic" posts into
a daily or 2-day digest. This would be a bit different from other
mailing lists where the digest is a compilation of *all* posts.
