Struan,
Thank you for the clearest explanation of Mysticism that I have ever
seen. Points 2 and 3 are going to require a little mulling but I see no
major problems. I think as our understanding advances at least point 2 may
require a little modification but that is a minor matter. I can see no
conflict with the MOQ in the definition of Mysticism which you advance. I
am afraid that my concept of Mysticism was colored by having been raised in
the southern bible belt.
I was not just being difficult with my questioning of Mysticism. I was
unable to fit it into the concept of the Metaphysics of Quality that I had
constructed in my head and couldn't rest until I had resolved the problem.
Your explanation shows me that I had already largely made use of it. My
understandfing of the MOQ is now clear and of a piece within my mind. Your
use of the superstring theory as an example was the last nail in the
coffin.
I will now subside and watch the sweating and straining at the four
levels. I tend to think that the levels are an artifact of explanation and
do not exist as separate entities.
David, unless you have other points that you want to get across I
consider my end of the mysticism debate to be resolved.
Struan, thanks again for the help. Ken Clark
