hi, bodvar:

you answer:
<What exactly is evil? The most commonly agreed upon phenomenon is
"death" (I know of no culture that values it in a general sense.

lithien:
i dont consider all death evil. things have to have an end. but i would
consider murder evil. do you see my distinction?
in fact, there are many legends and myths of people whose punishment is to
live forever only to grow horribly old and feeble ending in their asking for
death. remember that old greek myth where the goddess asked to have her
favorite live forever but forgot to ask for eternal youth as well? it was a
curse!

bo adds:
<btw, I have just read his "Lord Jim")

lithien:
so, what did you think of it? its more or less the same lines of Heart of
Darkness. what static level did his choice represent? was his choice evil
or not?

bo ends:
<the
MOQ. says that all value levels did start on the premises of its
parent, so even if the Quality idea demands a dualism (Intellect) it
is a budding revolt against Intellect; still well within it, but
nursing something that sees good-bad it in an even broader
context.

lithien:
im afraid you lost me here. why is the intellect dualistic? is it because
we see reality as a subject/object division? is that what you mean?
