hi, rob:
you say:
<Yes, evil exists in the form of insecurity and fear
lithien:
and you proceed to answer all the questions on that premise. i don't agree
with that definition of evil at all.
i doubt that evil people can be understood that simply. many of them seem
to be megalomaniacs not insecure or afraid.
i understand it in the examples you gave but those didnt sound like evil to
me. by coincidence, i was just watching a program on cannibalism and they
were using the examples of three cannibal serial murderers: dohmer, fish,
and a russian guy whose name i did not understand. he was the worst. the
doctor who was explaining their condition said that it seemed to be a wrong
circuitry in the brain of these people where aggression, sex, and food where
all combined. i still think that a regression to a former evolutionary
form sounds more plausible. many animals, including chimps, are cannibals.
jane goodall's study of chimpanzees discovered a relationship with
cannibalism and larger offsprings. in other words, the female individual
who would cannibalize the baby chimps from other females was the one who had
the largest and healthiest baby. there were some inferences that the brain
may have grown larger because of this behavior. any one else remember
that?
you also ask:
<6) New Question -- How do we rid ourselves of evil?
lithien:
much like homosexuality, evil may recur in the human species much like
mutations do. it is said by scientists who have studied this area of human
behavior that if all the homosexuals on earth were annihilated, there would
be just as many after a certain amount of years. in other words, the
condition keeps resurging no matter what.
