This touches on something I have been talking about with a Pirsig fan who
is not online with us. Does a lower level have to stop evolving for a
higher level to evolve on top of it? I realize that the higher level
struggles to control and keep the lower level in check, but does it need
to totally cut it off from DQ? Did the protections of Society cut us off
from the natural selection process that caused us to evolve far enough to
create societies in the first place??? Does this mean that societies now
evolve instead of biological entities? Or have societies that have reached
the Intellectual level been cut off from evolution so that Intellect can
safely evolve on top? Anyone? Anyone?

All good,
Rick
