I wonder why your find the question "why" disturbing. Perhaps it's because
of an observation of novelist John Steinbeck:

"The lies we tell about our duty and our purposes, the meaningless words
of science and philosophy, are walls that topple before a bewildered
    little 'Why?'"

The MOQ provides a long explanation of why some things are better than
others. As a result, a lot of SOM walls topple, illustrating Robert
Frost's insight, "Something there is that doesn't love a wall" -- an apt
    description of DQ.
