No one said evolution happens only in ways that represent "progress".
No one said evolution relies only on chance mutations.
It's a century and a half since Darwin, the "theory" (explanation of the
mechanisms) of evolution has evolved a long way since.
The fact of evolution remains as true as it ever was. Theories come and go.
