I think we also have to look at how this topic was approached before dismissing
it. Maybe the objectives weren't clearly set. Maybe we didn't make good rules.
Maybe we didn't set any objective. Maybe we didn't really make any rules.
Maybe we tried to cover too much at once. Maybe we didn't cover enough. Maybe
we weren't sure what we were trying to cover. At the very least I think we
have to agree that people had widely differing ideas about what was supposed
to happen.
Maybe if we put a bit more effort into setting an objective, figuring out some
kind of system to achieve that objective, communicating the system to everyone,
making it clear to everyone what is expected and how they should participate,
monitoring the progress, soliciting feedback, keeping it on track and reviewing and
assessing and revising the objective, methods and procedures if and as we see fit,
it might work better.
