Hello everyone
I've been giving some consideration to this month's topic without much
success, so I thank all the contributors who have shared their stories.
Perhaps that is the most profound influence the MOQ has had on my own
life... being able to discuss philosophy with those people who I would
otherwise have absolutely nothing to do with. No one really wants to
discuss the meaning of life with the guy cleaning their carpets and
furniture, if you see what I mean.
Having had little success in academics up to this point in my life I
figure there will be none, unless I help create a new field of study.
Lila came along at just the right time for me when I picked it up in
'97, having given ZMM a good twenty years to ferment. I was pointed to
the Lila Squad by a sad clown; a very powerful sign, if one is into such
non-sense (sure hope he's still not subscribed to the list :)). After a
somewhat less than cordial greeting from some of the members of the
group I settled down into an on and off again relationship and have made
many great friends. I thank you all.
I also want to thank Diana and Horse and all the steering committee
members for all the behind the scenes work they have done over the
years. I don't know about you all, but my life would be much less
intellectually challenging without moq.org.
