Hello Focus Group,
Bo, speaking about my post on oppositions said:
<<(if i get you right) something a fifth level will "transcend".>>
Yes, you are "getting me right", but I discouraged using the word
"transcend" as when I wrote: "L5 will not transcend or disable opposition.
It will simply be a level that lifts the blinders off of our view. It will
see and feel the VALUE OF OPPOSITION. Thus making experience par excellent.
We will not experience opposing forces simultaneously. Although, we will be
able to realize the value of opposition as a partner of experience, rather
than a foe," This discouragement of the word "transcend" is generally
because people seem to equate the word "transcend" with "escape of" (the
subject). And, we would have people say things like, "the emotional level
"frees itself" from the intellectual" just as in saying " the intellectual
level "frees itself" from the society level". And these statements are not
wrong; they are just misleading a little for some, because many understand
freedom to be destructive in the sense that the new is victorious over the
old. With "victory" implying the eradication of the former level or view (of
its enemy, if you will) leaving it no longer viable or "without value". But
as Pirsig readers we should all know that everything has value and the levels
are newly created views. Which is why I use the word "visualization" in my
last post on Oct. 17 when I stated: "L5 will be a jump in knowledge and
enhanced experience resulting from an unceasingly visualization that life
requires a marriage of opposition between enemies or forces, for that which
is un-reconcilable between them is that which also keeps them eternally
linked.". And so as long as, "transcend" is not an "escape from something"
and "victory" is not "freedom from something", then you keep my meaning in
its context.
Bo, speaking of me,
<<So,Todd, you seemingly are a S/O- intellect adherer.>>
I have only been a subscriber of MOQ Focus since mid-Sept. 99. So I haven't
really been around long enough to fully get your SOLAQI idea, but based on
last month, I am seemingly in basic agreement with your S/O- intellect
thoughts. Time and participation shall tell.
<<SOM enabling intellect". Why not see it as Q-intellect itself and
do away with all complications?>>
Again, I believe that we are in full agreement here. I am just a little
less indoctrinated.
MORE TO COME
I shall try to respond later to Keith and hopefully I will have time to
articulate how a visualization of the VALUE OF OPPOSITION will also have a
constraint facet for intellect as it builds its structure. As suspected, I am
not really speaking of emotions in my L5 candidate despite the loose title I
gave it. Let's try to avoid word-traps, even though they are sometimes fun,
they are futile progress.
Peace,
Todd
