Maggie,
  Just picked up your message about the little man and it sounds good. I
like your explanation. Let me think about it a while to see if I have
anything to add that makes sense. I don't have much trouble with the static
levels of value, the trouble I have is deciding what is value, and moral,
and good in relation to Gaia and also in relation to modern society. I see
conflicts which I can't resolve and which, as I see it, Pirsig does not
resolve either. Of course, there is no reason for him to resolve them. His
aim was to give us a framework in which to work and in that he succeeded.
