Stored in? As in warehouse, closet, bunker, reservoir, library? Do you
mean that mind is "suspended in language" and is therefore "stored" in
the social level with language?
The way I read the MOQ, biology freed itself from inorganic death and
destruction, society escaped from biological eat or be eaten, and
intellect cut loose from the "one right way to think" of society. Maybe
the urge to evolve to the next level is somehow "stored" in the lower
level so that if the higher levels get wiped out someday, the evolutionary
process will begin anew. But to assert that societal laws are somehow
stockpiled or salted away at the level of viruses, ants and polar bears
seems to me to be a stretch. A higher level originates from a lower, but
like a worm in a cocoon, emerges into something wonderfully different
with the ability to fly away from its parental home.
I need not remind you (but I will anyway) that "mind" is a perfectly
legitimate word in the MOQ lexicon. Pirsig uses it frequently in LILA and
speaks of the "intelligence of the mind," referring to the intellectual level.
