Elliot:
Both art and science are medited socially. Scientists cling to a social (in
this case theoretical) framework (not the empirical part, because as far as
i see it everything is empirical, even ideas themselves are experienced),
and artists work within a social framework as well. I dont find cave art so
great, because of my culture (and for those of you that dont buy that) i
dont like country music or brittany spears, or even the greatest works of
the far east. I could broaden my culture by listening to music i dont like
untill i figure out what its about (and thus begin to like it) as could a
scientist listen to theories he doesnt like untill he understands where
their coming from (and thus begins to like them).
