ARACHNE
Born of a lowly family, Arachne nevertheless achieved great fame due to
her wondrous weaving skills. However, she was also proud, and boasted
that even Athena could not out-weave her. Athena, hearing this,
challenged her to a weaving contest. Both wove with surpassing skill,
depicting scenes from mythology. While Athena worked on a tapestry
displaying her in dispute with Poseidon over Athens, with four
subordinate scenes of mortals who challenged the gods and were turned by
them into other shapes, framed by an olive tree motif, Arachne depicted
scenes of the gods' less honorable amorous conquests where Zeus,
Poseidon, Apollo, and Dionysus deceived goddesses and mortal women,
ending with a design of trailing ivy.
Finally, when all was done, Athena could find no fault with Arachne's
work. Angered
by her success, Athena struck Arachne's head with a spindle, cursing her
to live,
yet hang!
"And--to make you anxious for the future--may the same punishment be
decreed
for all your descendants." (Ovid, Metamorphoses 6. 137-138)
With these words, Athena transformed Arachne into a spider, which has to
constantly weave its web.

used by the Babylonians- but DROPPED by the GREEKS (who else!)-
when they developed the 12-Sign modern Zodiac in 450 BC.

The term "Intellect" is being used in the here in the Squad in a VERY broad
way.
I have previously asserted that intellect is ONLY one half of MIND- the
other half
being "Instinctive Mind." These two correspond to Right and Left brain mind.
The left "Artistic" component is certainly what is active in the Spider who
weaves
without instruction- instinctively. The Scientific and Artistic minds are
complimentary.
As the following shows while illuminating the relationship between both
these
aspects of MIND and their relationship to madness. Caudwell-a undoubted
genius,
wrote the following at age 28 just before his death in the Spanish Civil
war.

social solution, just as with other men. And of course the artist faced with
objective problems is like the scientist faced with subjective problems,
both are at least as helpless as ordinary men. This is only to say that
science and art, because they are social reality in abstraction, in the most
generalised and essential form, cannot exactly coincide with concrete living
which generates them, but can only continually enrich and develop it.
Psycho-analysis, and psychology generally, is unable to make any clear
distinction between the psychology of pathology and genius, and between the
process of mental creation and mental delusion, because it is unable to show
any causal distinction between conscious and unconscious phantasy. The
difference is a social difference, but psychology, being bourgeois
psychology, cannot rise beyond the conception of an "individual in civil
society"; it cannot separate and distinguish the biological environment from
the social environment, and consciousness is a product of the social
environment. We have already discussed the difficulties to which this gives
rise in the Freudian philosophy.

Arachne is feminine whereas Athena is male. David Bowie was an androgyne
like myself. This "Artistic Feminine" aspect is informed by a FEMININE
emanation
from Male-God. It is called the Holy Spirit by Christians. One of the
redeeming features
of Catholicism is it's validation of the feminine thru Mary- the mother of
God,
My "MoM" says that it was an Old Testament Patriarchal twisting of truth to
claim that Eve came from Adam- when in fact, it is Adam who emerges from Eve
in every human birth! Jewish avoidance of the 13th(Arachne) number is very
relevant here!
We are dealing with what is both a SPIRITUAL and PSYCHOLOGICAL insight. It
suffers therefore from all the masking/projection etc. of the human
psycho-spiritual condition- except that this SOM is the most deeply buried
of all. And correspondingly hard to see!
In conclusion, I assert that in this era of rampant Scientific Materialism
we are about to witness the antidote in the form of the most stunning
breakthrough "from the other side" ever seen by humanity. It will be a
re-"birth" sufficient to save the planet.
For the compliment/antidote to Scientific Materialism is Artistic
Spiritualism. What is about to happen will make the sixties revolution look
tame. Prophecy....again!
