ROGER STRONGLY AGREES WITH BO AND JB
ON A SET OF SIMPLE PROTOCOLS FOR THE SQUAD

Once we agree on some basic guides, we can all provide friendly social
pressure to encourage compliance. One post per day would tend to have the
desirable outcome of forcing folks to prioritize. I would also love it if
messages could only be sent once a day, as this would add breathing space to
the flow.

Prior suggestions on protocol have been met with criticism that it would be
tough for new members to learn ....... This is not true if it is listed in the
forum and if they even spent one day reading before sending a message. Plus we
can politely police ourselves.

The other concern is that it interrupts the dynamics...... True, but it also
applies some very much needed static latches. This forum is not supposed to
be a cocktail party. We should reflect and condense our thots. We should
pursue intellectual values , not social values.

For months I assumed most members were posting from their work - and some do.
But it is becoming increasingly clear that many of our members are not
employed full time. Don't get me wrong, that is great, it is just that I
wonder if we are running off many members that don't give their full time to
this group. I say that takes away from the dynamics of the group. We need more
scientists and executives and travel agents to supplement the students and
musicians and retired.(remember Walter!)

I need some structure ........quick!

Roger
