Hi Squad, Clark

When Copernicus proposed his idea that the earth was not the centre of the
Universe his main opponents were not the Church. The ones pouring scorn on
his ideas were his fellow scientists. I'm sure there was no little derision
of "Old Madman Copernicus."

So when Clark writes:
> Fintan,
> I have been waiting for someone to bring up the subject of left
handedness [of organic molecules]. This left handed preference can be
verified by observing the penis of a boar hog. It is formed like a corkscrew
with a spiral to the left. Glad to be of assistance. Let me know if there is
anything else I can help with.

Derision I can handle. But, as Copernicus would confirm, it is the failure
to intellectually engage the "ridiculous" ideas of the madman that rankles
far more. But after all, many of the major breakthroughs were accompanied by
the sniggers of the unconvinced. I am a Scientist.

When I propose to model the universe by drawing a line connecting the centre
of the Earth with the Sun, my model is a valid attempt to represent abstract
notions of vast timescapes within a valid 3D Euclidean model. The 'proof' of
the pudding , so to speak, is the capacity of the model to explain reality.
That is a rigorous test to which Copernicus had to submit his model of the
solar
system. And that is the ONLY test too. Doesn't matter how hard anyone
laughs, if the model models reality then it perseveres. Copernicus got the
last laugh.

In labelling one end of that line (the centre of the earth) as the
"Singularity" and the other end (the Sun) as "God," I am reconciling Science
and Religion, singularity being a scientific term and God being a religious
term. I am also saying that the Q-event creates the past and the future in
the eternal Now. Note that i am saying that Quality creates the future. My
work is the scientific basis of the Quality event.

The model also tells us how creation happened and what came before the
"Singularity," viz: nothing. Because nothing comes "before" the centre of a
circle. In fact we can regard the singularity as the last part of creation
to appear. I am working on a diagram of this apparent contradiction. Here's
a verbal diagram:

If you fill-in a circle uniformly from the outside towards the centre, then
it is the very centrepoint or singularity of the circle that is filled in
last. Gravity is the past and is finite and "ends" in a singularity. The
present is the eternal now of the circle circumference. The future is the
centrifugal force trying to throw us off the planet.

This approach- which places the Earth back at the centre of the Universe
again is a reversal of the trend since Copernicus banished us to obscurity
on the edge of a lost galaxy. Now i know how he felt.

love

Fintan
